Judith Lafitte
Biography
Judith Lafitte graduated from the University of New Orleans where children’s literature instructor Coleen Salley engendered in her an appreciation of the importance of engaging children in learning to read. In 2000, she opened Octavia Books with Tom Lowenburg. Lafitte’s roles at Octavia Books are Children’s Book Buyer and Children’s Event Coordinator. She has served as the Vice President of the New Orleans Chapter of the Women’s National Book Association and as a member of the American Booksellers Association Bookseller Advisory Council.
