Biography

Irene Latham grew up eating tomatoes and watermelon fresh from her granddaddy's garden. Her first poetry picture book, Dear Wandering Wildebeast, earned two starred reviews and was a 2015 NCTE Notable Poetry Book. She is also the author of three poetry books for adults and two novels for children, Leaving Gee's Bend and Don't Feed the Boy. She lives with her family in Birmingham, Alabama. Irenelatham.com.
