Biography

Robert Mann holds the Manship Chair in Journalism at Louisiana State University's Manship School of Mass Communication. He is the author of acclaimed political histories of the United States civil rights movement, the Vietnam War, and American wartime dissent. His book, Daisy Petals and Mushroom Clouds, was named by the Washington Post as one of the best political books of 2011. A former press secretary to two Louisiana United States senators (Russell Long and John Breaux), Mann is a columnist for the NOLA.com | New Orleans Times-Picayune .
