Biography

Lisa Michele Briggs Reed has been writing poetry and creating art since childhood. Her love of wildlife and the outdoors led her to obtain federal and state wildlife rehabilitation permits to assist Louisiana’s wildlife. She is employed as an Environmental, Safety, and Health Manager and is the owner of Flock of Five Gift and Art Emporium in Sulphur. Lisa resides in Carlyss, Louisiana with her husband Andrew, 11 canine companions, and an alligator named Henry.

Gondra: The Driftwood Dragon of Cameron Parish

Gondra, a tenacious and rather nosy driftwood dragon becomes environmentally-aware, as she embarks on a journey over land and sea, meeting a cast of fantastical creatures along the way. She learns about the uniqueness and beauty of Louisiana, and what the "human-people" can do to help the environment and the local wildlife. She ultimately ends up on Holly Beach, in Cameron Parish, Louisiana, where she meets a saucy dragonfly who helps her fulfill the promise she mad to a sea turtle she befriended while drifting along in the Gulf of Mexico.
