Biography

Singer-songwriter, poet, cultural activist, and environmentalist Zachary Richard is a recording artist and performer with 20 albums to his credit. He is the author of four volumes of poetry and Louisiana’s first French language Poet Laureat. Fiercely attached to the French language and Acadian culture, he is Commandeur de l’Ordre des Arts et Lettres of the French Republic, Officer de l'Ordre des Palmes Académiques, Member of the Ordre des Francophones des Amériques, Chevalier de l’Ordre de la Pléiade, and Member of the Order of Canada.
