Phoebe Ferguson


Phoebe Ferguson is a New Orleans native and the great-great-granddaughter of Judge John Howard Ferguson, the named defendant in the Plessy v. Ferguson US Supreme Court case. In 2009, she co-founded the Plessy & Ferguson Foundation with Keith Plessy, a descendent of Homer Plessy. Ferguson is the Executive Director of the social justice organization that advocates racial healing by teaching the lessons of Plessy to reconstruct a future defined by racial equity.
